When I received a rather late request for a 12 people picnic, my first reaction was to reply stating that we are fully booked (which we were – 6 picnics!) but then I thought again: It would be lovely to do a big picnic, something different and new. Also, there’s the benefit of extra income of course. So instead, I replied with an enthusiastic, but rather nervous, “of course!”
The client was amazing with a straight to the point, let’s get this thing organised attitude. After the initial panic of ‘what did we get ourselves into’, we put our heads down and started organising. The brief was simple: it’s my wife’s birthday and I would like to throw her a picnic with a couple of friends. We kept it simple, as this generally leads to a more relaxed atmosphere, which in turn makes the guests relaxed. At the last minute, we received two more requests: change of time and let’s add two more people while we at it! We welcomed the challenge and before we knew it, the day was upon us! We threw in a couple of lawn games for the little kiddies to play with. I roped in my husband for some extra help and boy did we need it! We also put our latest team member to the test that day – dolly the trolley! ENJOY!
